Hi.
I kno most of you have quite a big music collection so i thought that ppl could post here and brag.
I have to say taht i only have about 2.3 gig of music on my comps that i listen to often, but theres another ruffly 5 scattered around the place that i dont listen to much.
Thats kinda tiny, but i kno ppl that have much less. BEN.

Post 2 by frequency (the music man) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 17:10:38

well i have about 280 gigs, but only 80 will fit on my mp3 player at a time. Most of it is lossless, so it's not as much as an mp3 collection of the same size would be.

Post 3 by yankee g wolverine (Account disabled) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 17:14:05

I've got 20.8gb of music in that folder at this time. I'm a little particular on what I want in there.

Post 4 by sparkie (the hilljack) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 17:14:32

I have several files from mp3 to wma to ram.

Greetings Ben,

You have way more than me for...

I don't have any that I am aware of.

Maybe this sounds confusing..??

I have a few that have been like downloaded and don't

even know if this is correct computer terminology...

'cause I have a few selections that have like been e-mailed to me

...and I was enabled to place on save, thusly

being enabled to listen to when I so desire.

I will be the First to admit that I have aLot to learn.

Connie ~ Grace

Ok, Having just scanned my music folder, it tells me I have 151 GB currently stored there. Almost all of it is in MP3, and while a little is as low as 128 KB/s most is 192 and above. There is a little lossless music there, a few bootleg concerts, but very little, and the collection is soon to grow some more.

Post 8 by jmbauer (Technology's great until it stops working.) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 19:52:06

I've around 72 GB at present. most files are of the mp3 variety, with bit rates ranging from 128 to 320 KBPS.

Post 9 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 21:17:12

let's see, right now i have 28 gigs on this laptop and more in other folders!

Post 10 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 12-Nov-2006 23:47:43

Currently, I've got approx 138gb of music, most in WMA format and mp3files ranging from 128kbps up to 320kbps.

*waits for the size indicator to stop going up...
K, lets brake this down. I just measured the my documents folder. It came in at 134GB. I've got more backed up on my drive, but minus about 100 MB for stupid crap that doesn't really need to be there lol. So, 3/4 of it is trance or electronic genres, and 1/4 is pop. yeah.... NOt sure on actuall amount of songs, but each song is basicly 4.5 megs each, so you do the math. I'm to lazy to do it.

Post 13 by serrebi101 (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 17-Feb-2007 13:20:00

I forgot to add this in my last message, but I've got a 8GB folder in there of my favs, and so it's about 1600 tracks, so there's a little bit of double action happening.

Post 14 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 17-Feb-2007 16:59:58

well all, update, just got an 80 gb ipod. i have about 40 gigs left on that. only fine grade stuff goes on there. meaning, my favorite songs of all time. and books that i'm currently listening to go on there as well.

Post 15 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 17-Feb-2007 17:02:19

oh yeah, can't forget about the external i have. it has about 40 more gigs of music on there, but that's for djing and things. i think i have a new multiples as well. meaning 2 or more of the same songs. that's because i have 50 years of billboard hits and the top 500 greatest songs and things of that nature.

Post 16 by wahaha (Zone BBS Addict) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 1:17:02

4,333 songs or over 17 gb, but even more on the external hard drive...

Post 17 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 18-Mar-2008 4:31:28

i have 64 gigs of music on my external hard drive.

Post 18 by EbonyMoon187 (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 18-Mar-2008 7:22:02

Um, lemme see...Well, i have 140 gigs of music in my mp3 directory, all of which is 192 or above. Though, there is some ogg there to, and, one album, in some wongy format called "VAG" which i'm still trying to convert/play. *grins*

I have no idea, but I have a 500gig drive. And over 800 CD's in it. External that is.

I have no idea how much music is in my "My Music" folder, but I know I've got quite a few artists.

Post 23 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Tuesday, 18-Mar-2008 18:40:27

3.15 gb. Is that right with over 700 songs? That's what the little jaws tool tip said. I also went to properties on the folder and it says I have 1 point something. I know that's not right.

Post 24 by KC8PNL (The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better.) on Saturday, 22-Mar-2008 5:30:00

436.2gb. All mp3 files and most with bit rates over 128. I'm disappointed Kev, I always thought you had more stuff than I do.

Post 25 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Monday, 14-Apr-2008 18:26:20

wow. i only have 1.55 gigs. Most of it is MP3, M4A, and M4P. M4A is audio that itunes converts for u, and M4P is stuff that I buy from the itunes store. According to itunes, I have 298 tracks altogether.

Post 26 by martin (The One And Only) on Tuesday, 15-Apr-2008 0:49:26

after losing a hell of a lot over the last year or so i have about 350 to 400GB of music on several drives.

Post 27 by PorkInCider (Wind assisted.) on Tuesday, 15-Apr-2008 1:51:33

Scot, I'm still slacking, music is around 360 gb right now, books are stored separately.

Post 28 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Tuesday, 15-Apr-2008 5:13:28

96 gigs mp3 all over 128 ogg, and wma. small I know, but I'm filling my drive too fast and need to get a new one.

Post 29 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 27-Apr-2008 18:22:53

i have about 90 gigs of music on my external hard drive. i also have a music folder called billboard top 100, and it has the years 1950 through 2007, and each year has 100 songs.

Post 30 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Monday, 28-Apr-2008 6:43:11

I only have 10 gigs right now, but I have about 450 cds yet to rip to my comp. I'm not sure if I'm going to have the room though, so I've been holding off. I really have to get to that some day. lol

Post 31 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 21:27:39

I have about 5 gigs, 2,558 songs.

Post 32 by Lindsay3.14 (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 21:34:33

Okay, well my music is technically not in my "My Music" folder, but after grabbing the collections of several friends, it now totals 434 gb (Yay, a palindrome!). I do have a number of duplicates that I need to still go through and delete, so I'm not sure how much my collection will decrease in size without them.

Post 33 by Lindsay3.14 (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 22:03:41

I must also add that I haven't even scratched the surface as far as the amount of my music which I've actually listened to is concerned. Since I have a 1 tb drive I am in no hurry to delete any of the stuff I have, even that to which I would not normally listen, just in case I find something which either I or other people I know might want later.

Post 34 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 22:17:12

I've upgraded now. I've got I think, 2.10 gigs now.

Post 35 by SingerOfSongs (Heresy and apostasy is how progress is made.) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 23:34:23

about 330 gigs now, give or take.

Post 36 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 20-Apr-2009 20:57:35

now, i'm up to 114 gb of music.

Post 37 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Monday, 20-Apr-2009 21:03:19

4.73 GB.
What in the world? It says the folder has 1,796 files. There are only around 900.

Post 38 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Tuesday, 21-Apr-2009 10:11:41

Wow, now I have about 5 gigs, no more M4A or M4P files either. I have 740 tracks according to itunes now.

Post 39 by charrington (Zone BBS is my Life) on Wednesday, 22-Apr-2009 9:08:28

ABOUT 215gb FOR ME... ALL IN OGG

Post 40 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Wednesday, 22-Apr-2009 16:21:22

I might have a "my music" folder on the laptop, but I don't use it. I just got a Western Digital 1 Tb mybook external special edition hard drive for £85 off Amazon and my Bf just shoved god knows how many gigs, all his collection on there. That's probably the better option because if your PCs or lappies were to go down, bam, you lose all your music to go with it. Having it all on the external hard drive beats having a load of scratched and beaten-up hard copies of albums, compilations and the like on CD since you can just select a load of tunage and copy it over to the MP3 or Ipod, no messing.

Jen.

I have about 100000 songs on my computer.

Post 42 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Thursday, 23-Jul-2009 6:48:13

I have 16.6 GB of music on my computer right now.

Post 43 by Songbird83 (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Monday, 07-Sep-2009 0:37:56

Well, I've got 10,335 songs, so it's like 50 gigs. I know it's not a huge collection, but it's more than half of this 80 gig drive in this computer. There's 5000 or so more thatt I have on another drive that I haven't really heard much of since it was just something I downloaded. but I like almost every single song in my 50 gigs though. I'm not an internet dj or anything, but I think it's important to have a music collection with stuff you like in it, and I guess since I'm such a big lover of music of all different genres, that's just how I feel about it. I'm not saying it's bad to have like 500 gigs of music, that's ok as long as it's not just taking up space on your computer or something. But I think music is such a wonderful thing and I dunno what I'd do without it and I know that when I get a bigger hard drive I'm going to download more so I can expand my interests some more. lol.

Post 44 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Wednesday, 10-Mar-2010 14:16:10

Just feel like reviving this topic because I'm bored, lol. I currently have 192gb of music on my external hard drive, it's a shame it won't all fit on my computer or I'd keep it there as a backup as well, but my comp only has a 120gb hard drive.

Post 45 by charrington (Zone BBS is my Life) on Monday, 15-Mar-2010 20:20:46

I've shrunk to about 20 GB,.... didn't listen to half of my crap anyway...

Post 46 by Elenhiia (Feather'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr for president!) on Tuesday, 16-Mar-2010 0:51:40

58.5 gb, 10,639 files, all in MP3, OGG, and WMA, only one folder in M4A, a few WAV files (things people have given me that I haven't gotten around to converting, literally only 9 or 10 files), nearly all 128 and above. I'm not sure what bitrate CDex rips in though.

Post 47 by KC8PNL (The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better.) on Tuesday, 16-Mar-2010 2:38:15

I'm up to around 725gb of music. Wee haaa

Post 48 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Tuesday, 16-Mar-2010 11:52:31

Goodness! How do you all get so much music? Never mind. Don't answer that.
Anyways, my update from last year...
The properties of my music folder said I had 3.05 Gb, which is not right so I had to go into that folder, select all the folders, and endedup with 5.55 GB. By next year, I'll probably have 6 or 7 Gb.

I had alot on my old computer though.

Post 50 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Wednesday, 17-Mar-2010 18:31:50

Alrightie, mr. Itunes, help me out here.
1166 songs, 3 days, 7.38 GB, 333 albums, *which isn't correct since if I have stuff that gracenote doesn't have, I put it in a folder called the artists name like I have some disturbed songs that itunes can't find so they go into a bonus tracks subfolder inside my disturbed folder) and 166 artists.
haha, I'm crazy about ID3 tagging my stuff for my iphone. Well that and getting itunes to get me the album artwork for my stuff.
